Leather, apps, websites & consulting

Crafted by hand, built with care.

At 1985 Studio, we care deeply about the details most people never notice, because that is where real quality lives. Everything we make is something we would proudly use ourselves, from leather goods, 3D-printed quality-of-life objects, to apps, websites and digital experiences built with the same patience and precision. Behind it stand 20 years of professional experience and a simple belief: good work starts with good intentions. That's why every project is discussed and planned together first, before the first stitch or the first line of code.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know to successfully work together.

Why do you make handcrafted goods and write code?

Both come down to the same thing for us: care for the details most people never notice. A wallet and an app are made the same way here. We plan them first together, then build them with patience and precision. That is how something truly beautiful is created that people love to use.

What do the 20 years of experience mean?

20 years of professional work stand behind the studio, and they show in how we work. Every project starts with a conversation and a plan, before the first stitch or the first line of code. Our core expertise, however, is definitely in digital IT consulting services, but we love making nice things.

If I order something, how does that work?

There is no shop on this website. You write to us with what you have in mind, and we reply with an offer in writing: the piece, the total price, shipping costs, payment methods and the expected delivery time. However, we might respond with a couple of questions to you first, to develop the same understanding of the project. Once we agree on things, you pay within 14 days unless the offer says otherwise, and we send the piece by post or courier. We make every piece after you order it, to your specification. Until the piece is finished, you can still cancel. The details, and what cancelling costs, are in our terms.

Can I order a custom piece?

Yes. Every piece is made after you order it, to your specification, for example to your measurements or stamped with your initials. Tell us what you have in mind and we plan it with you before anything is cut. The piece is made specifically for you by hand.

Can you build an app or a website for me?

Yes. We build apps and websites with the same patience and precision as all our services. Each project starts with a conversation, and we discuss and plan it together before the first line of code. Write to us with your idea.

Do you offer consulting, training and AI-native projects?

Yes. Expert digital consulting and training are part of the studio, and so are AI-native projects: products designed around AI from the start, rather than with it added later. Like every project, it starts with a conversation about what you need.

What leather do you use?

Natural vegetable-tanned leather, ideally locally sourced. We cut and saddle-stitch it by hand. Some pieces are dyed by hand, others darkened with oil and beeswax, and leather like this gains a patina as you use it.

Can I pick up a piece in Munich?

No. We deliver by post or courier only, and the shipping costs are in your offer.

Which languages do you work in?

English and German. Write to us in whichever you prefer.
